At present we have three experienced Osteopaths operating out of two clinics, situated in both North Caulfield and Brunswick . MOSIP also enjoys the benefits of a Psychologist and a part time general Practioner who practise out of both clinics. We treat general conditions in a variety of ages ranging from children to the very elderly. We have special interests in sports injuries and treat many companies associated with the performing arts. The clinic has been operating for over thirty years and the current practitioners have a combined experience of over thirty five years in general practice.

We commonly treat the following conditions:

	Back and neck pain.
	Joint and muscle injuries.
	Sports injuries.
	Headache and Jaw pain.
	Asthma and breathing related conditions.
	Condition associated with pregnancy and lactation.
	Work related and transport accident injuries.

The Practitioners at MOSIP have developed their expertise and extensive understanding of the demands of specific activities by combining:

	First hand participation
	Education
	Research
	Specific associations with performing companies, groups and teams.

This enables them to better understand the mechanism of injury and to identify further risk factors.

Treatment and management may consist of:

	Case history taking and physical examination
	Constructing a differential diagnosis and selecting a working diagnosis
	Designing a treatment plan and selecting the most appropriate types of technique.
	Discussing the treatment plan and expected outcomes with each patient.
	Listing possible alternatives with the patient and explaining all process, risks and side effects of the proposed treatment.
	Organising rehabilitation exercises and or a stretching program, for every day and tailored to your particular activity or sport.
	Referral for further investigation or imaging when necessary.

All practitioners in the clinic have developed a large referral base of other specialists who are considered experts in their areas of treatment. This referral base is constantly updated and maintained.

History of the clinic

The clinic was originally started by Dr. Violet Davidson who was both an Osteopath and chiropractor and graduated from the Cox school of Osteopathy in the late 1960's. In 1987 Dr. Stephen Sexton a graduate of the British school of osteopathy joined the clinic and worked with Dr. Davidson until 1988 when she retired. Dr. Sexton continued to develop the clinic and took on three intern Osteopaths who were doing their professional year, in 1990, 1991 and 1992. In 1991 the clinic moved from Bambra Road in North Caulfield to Alma road in East St.Kilda. In the year 2000 MOSIP moved back to North Caulfield were it is now situated on the corner of Orrong and Balaclava Roads.

Over the last eighteen years Dr. Sexton has had the pleasure of working and training with Dr. David Richardson, Dr. Joshua Brohier, Dr. Nahla Kraim, Dr. Rohan Armstrong, Dr. Michael Rowan, Dr. Shane Lewis, Dr. Shaun Gleeson, Dr. Shane Heslop, Dr. Marcel Ghoukassian and Dr. Dominic Briscombe who have all helped to develop MOSIP into it's current form.

The clinic is well established as a general Osteopathic practice and well recognized by many physical performing groups and sporting bodies as a premier clinic associated with injuries sustained in these areas. At present Dr. Stephen Sexton, Dr. Rowan Armstrong and Dr. Marcel Ghoukassian make up the Osteopathic component of the MOSIP team.
